SharePoint and Integration

Our integration and development practice is critical to our ability to deliver and work with an integrated SharePoint environment. As a platform, SharePoint is limited by the data the enterprise exposes to it and as a result determines the amount of information end users utilize for their work products.

Given that most organizations have a mix of Microsoft and Non-Microsoft technologies and multiple lines of business systems in a mix of physical, virtual and cloud environments, an enterprise integration team is critical. Furthermore, Allin’s ability to provide custom-developed solutions helps not only with working with the SharePoint API when required, but also supports any needed extensions or third party legacy application customizations as part of a broader solution.

Most initial SharePoint deployments don’t require this type of service, but as the platform grows and users realize the benefits, the demands to read and/or write to various external systems increase through the proliferation of intranets, extranets and public-facing portals. As a result, we find our integration capabilities are most often utilized in more mature SharePoint and general technology environments.

Classic Systems Integration

Our team builds risk-managed plans to integrate systems and applications without disrupting business operations. Our approach centers on thorough analysis. Integration projects have the greatest risk for unintended consequences as a result of poorly planned actions or overlooked details, perhaps even more so than in other types of technology projects.

Our integration and development teams possess a high amount of business acumen and experience. While this may not seem important for a technology project, our clients have found that it helps when thinking through long-term implications of solution designs, error handling, decision analysis and business process changes that may need to occur.

Data Migration and Data Consolidation

The foundation of your business operations is its data. Whether it is customer data, production schedules, or financial records, this information is vital to continued success and smooth operations. Allin Consulting has extensive experience in data migration. We are able to migrate data from source to target locations using thoroughly tested and repeatable processes to ensure data integrity during the migration. We define business terminology, assess data quality and cleansing or “scrubbing” needs and create the data dictionaries for knowledge sharing. Often, a data migration project will require consolidation and de-duplication of data from and across multiple source systems before being migrated to a target system. Our team has experience with this type of engagement.

Languages, Platforms and Expertise

Among our integration and development team members are resources with multiple years of project experience working with the following languages and platforms: VB.Net, C#.Net, Classic ASP, VB, Pearl, SSIS, SSRS, p-SQL, SQL, MySQL, Ajax, JQuery, Javascript, XSLFO, XSL(T), XML, MS CRM, Pearl, Ksh, IIS, Apache, Tomcat, Microsoft Message Queues, Webservice\SOAP, DotNetNuke, PHP, vBScript, JSP, C, C++, UNIX and Linux.

We focus on best practices for development and integration, an understanding of language constructs and diverse language capabilities when recruiting new team members.
